A Smooth, Skin-like Finish
The foundation goes on smooth and creamy. It feels slightly velvet-like on first contact with my skin. Then, activated but the warmth of my body, it becomes a silky cream. It provides medium coverage for a skin perfecting look right from the start.
It’s also buildable for you ladies who want full coverage. Simply layer it on, buff in to your skin and then reapply in the same fashion before moving on to the rest of your makeup.
To apply the foundation, I gave my face a few direct swipes with the foundation stick. Then, I buffed it in using small circular motions with my Real Techniques Buffer Brush.
What I love most is that it’s Black Opal of all brands. What a huge and pleasant surprise to have such an awesome foundation in a brand that is largely ignored in the beauty world. I also love it, of course, because the brand makes their products specifically for women of color. For all my brown beauties out there, please give the Black Opal Cream Foundation Stick a try. I think you’ll love it just as much as I do.
This is probably one of the best foundations I’ve ever tried and I like it more than my MAC Face & Body and Matchmaster Foundations. Seriously. Black Opal definitely got this one right. Now, I’m curious about the other products that they offer. I’ll definitely be going back for more.
